MANY THANKS!!
Our habitat workday was successful in Habitat’s new subdivision, October Woods, off of Rutledge Pike. I praise and thank God for the following great servants at Bearden UMC: Ann Beaver, John Bell, Misty Bell, Karen Billingsley, David Broyles, Mike Davis, Scott Forester, Robert Hahn, Michelle McClure, Shea McClure, Jack Mills, Becca Proctor, Ruthie Proctor, Lee Raines, Mark Rosson, Charla Sherbakoff, Thomas Sherbakoff, Mike Sherrill, Susan Yanno, and Andy Zimmerman. On Friday, several volunteers made sandwiches and then delivered them on Saturday. On Saturday, 17 mighty Bearden volunteers and others built a floor system in perfect weather starting about 8 a.m. and finishing about 1 p.m. We enjoyed meeting and working with the homeowner, Tara, her father, and her future neighbors. The house will be part of a seven-house blitz on April 14. When it is completely finished, we will be invited back for the dedication of the house.

FROM THE PASTOR
One Great Day!
Last Sunday the message text contained the teaching about believing that mountains may be moved by faith. I have great belief in the truth of this teaching from the bible. Very soon the E-Team is going to ask you to consider great things for Easter, The Greatest Day! As part of that focus the Administrative Council is going to ask you to be part of a “Great Challenge.” The church will be asked to look forward to a celebration of “The Greatest Day” on “The Greatest Day in History.”
When churches of individual Christians start out on these kinds of adventures for God there are several ways that the member-ship can respond. We may say something dismissive either believing this is a wrong direction or just not buy into the process. We may stand on the sidelines and watch to see if others are getting on board. We then make our decision based on others decisions. But! The best way to approach a “Great Day” is to realize that we can only do truly great things for God by trusting God to do truly great things through us. Before any effort is attempted, our faith says, “This is a work of the Spirit before it is a work of our hands!”
We sing the hymn “Victory in Jesus” often. As Bearden seeks to be about “Great” works for God, let us take an open heart and mind before God and let Him lead us to be right in the middle of His will! Blessings,
In Christ, TLS
