GROUNDS WORK DAY FELLOWSHIP
Many thanks to Virginia Kenney, Elizabeth Peters, Robert Hahn, Tommy Edwards, Tom Stooksbury, Steve Allman, Jack Mills, Mike Sherrill, Mike Stamps, Jim McPherson, Donnie Ernst and Joe Burns for their good work on Saturday, Oct. 7th. Shrubs and flower beds were mulched and weeded, shrubs were pruned, and the sanctuary was dusted. Also, last week tiles were replaced in front of the church by Terri McCracken and Jim McPherson. Renee Follum planted the flowers this spring next to the entrance by the Choir Room and we have enjoyed them all summer and fall. Tom Seay provided coffee, orange juice and doughnuts for the workers. This work makes God’s House a more inviting place to worship.
CONGRATULATIONS!
Darryl Millis is in Prague, Czech Republic this week where he will be presented the World Veterinary Orthopedic Surgery Award.

WALK IN FAITH To Walk In Faith...What a powerful statement! Taking each day not knowing what the outcome will be but trusting that God's will carry us through to the end. In the midst of illness, heartbreak, financial stress, planning for your family, or any number of factors that impact daily life walking in faith is very difficult to do. We want to control, plan ahead, and know what direction we are headed in before we make commitments or promises. Matthew tells us, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For every-one who asks receives; he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, the door will be open.” The first time I encountered this verse I was 8 years old. I have found its meaning to be true every year of my life since that time. I am amazed when I think back over my life at how many times I have prayed for an answer, strength or guidance in a situation. The road to that answer may have been rocky and many hurdles may have been overcome in the process, but God has always provided an answer. Of course, in the long run, HIS outcome was better than anything I could have ever planned! I have faced so many struggles in my life that it has taken me a long time to come to REALLY know faith and the power of prayer. But you know, for about two years now I have found a strange peace and comfort in times of struggle. You may think that that sounds very odd. I can tell you though that it is because I have faith enough to know that if I pray for God to guide my life, my decisions, and my heart, that he will show me a miracle in the end! As you take this Walk In Faith, please pray for God to show you the direction He wants you to take with Bearden! Stacey Rivers
