                      TOM’S GOING TO SUDAN!

Our pastor, Tom Seay, will leave April 16th for a 10-day mission to Sudan and other African countries.  The trip is jointly sponsored by the Holston Conference and UMCOR, to explore burgeoning ministries in the Sudan.  They will listen to church leaders and pastors from Uganda, Rwanda, Sudan and Kenya, to lay the ground-work for a mission team trip in November.  Please pray for travel mercies, health and safety, and a successful mission.

                            FLOWER CROSS

Worshippers at any (or all!) of the Easter morning services are invited and encouraged to pick flowers from their own garden, pluck blooms from a neighbor’s yard, or purchase them from their favorite florist or grocery store.  The Worship Team is providing a large six-foot cross to be included in the sanctuary beauty on Easter.  Select the time of your appropriate arrival, and before that time, go to the choir room vestibule to place your flowers in the cross.

                                    LILIES

We will decorate our facilities with lilies on Easter

Sunday, April 16th.  The cost will be $14.50 for each lily.  (The price increase is due to the fact that our florist had to secure lilies from a different vendor this year since last year’s vendor lost their crop of plants.)  If you wish to purchase a lily, please fill out the form in Sunday’s bulletin or contact the church office, 588-6562.

                          IN APPRECIATION

We want to say a big thank you for the love and gifts you showed to us during our baby shower. We really appreciate all that were present and all that gave us gifts. They are beautiful gifts. And we must say that the church has been a loving family to us. Thanks for your love.

                                        --Oladapo and Funmi Obitayo

                       TOO MUCH ATTENTION

We have so many wonderful folks at Bearden who really look after things.  But in trying to do a good deed, we have been over-watering the indoor greenery.  We have a volunteer who waters on a schedule.  In this one case only less is better.

When Jesus cried, “It is finished,” He did not take away the conflict, the test, the fight.  No!  He took away only your defeat.
